H.E Dr. Hadi bin Ali Alyami

Executive Director of the Independent Permanent Human Rights Commission of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation  

His Excellency Dr. Hadi bin Ali Alyami is a seasoned expert in human rights in the Islamic world, having worked in legislative and rights-based institutions at national, regional, and international levels for over three decades. Dr. Alyami was appointed Executive Director of the OIC-IPHRC in September 2025. Before taking over this office, he served as a member of the Shura Council for its Seventh and Eighth terms (2016–2024) and chaired its Human Rights Committee. He also led the Arab Human Rights Committee of the League of Arab States from 2014 to 2017, and held memberships in the Saudi Human Rights Commission and the Saudi Red Crescent Authority (SRCA).

Dr. Alyami is distinguished mainly by his practical vision, backed by extensive, long-standing experience that has advanced Arab human rights work and strengthened relevant oversight and procedural mechanisms.

Academically, Dr. Alyami holds a PhD in Law and serves as a professor of international human rights law. His research and intellectual contributions in the fields of legislation, justice, and human rights are widely known. This academic and practical diversity has shaped his leadership role in developing human rights structures and mechanisms, as well as building broad partnerships with national, regional, and international institutions.
